It's official... Parts of the Panhandle experienced so much rain yesterday that their weather stations were telling them that it was raining 'cats n dogs'.
Meanwhile, Ford Motor Company is again pushing their recall for their dangerous metal objects flying from airbags while driving. Affected vehicles from 2004 to 2014.
Further bridge delays as Scottsbluff Police reported vandalism overnight and are looking for your help finding the cement culprit.
Wheat Belt Public Power District is reporting a power outage this morning in the Lake McConaughey and Llewelyn area. They're working hard to get that restored today. Check the outage map at Wheatbelt.com.        No Bull. Nebraska State Patrol, the landowner and his son worked in record time to get a loose bull back into the field in under 15 minutes.
And according to Scanner Traffic, an automated call from an iPhone indicated a car wreck on Beverly Drive and Pomona, no response to a return phone call. And when officers checked the scene, they reported that no MVA was found and the callwas canceled.
27th in Avenue I was busy yesterday afternoon as officers were seen searching a white Colorado sedan where bags and weapons were visibly confiscated. At least one person was placed in custody.

Let's take a look at what's happening around the Panhandle for Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
Sad news out of Scotts Bluff County on Monday morning in the form of three accidents.
Monday morning scanner traffic indicated several motor vehicle accidents in the Panhandle.
Just before 10.30 a.m., a minor accident occurred on Highway 71 near Stage Hill between a semi-driver and a red jeep.
We spoke with a friend of the victim in the red jeep and she's okay, thankful to be alive, but definitely sore.
Then shortly after that, a call came in on a motorcycle versus truck accident on Highway 26 and County Road 11.
Unfortunately, the calls kept coming in, with tragedy striking on this next one, when 44-year-old Gideon Brunner was driving at a high rate of speed in a white-dodge truck on Kimball Avenue in South Gering, when he slammed into a Ford Ranger driven by J.T. Jackson, recent graduate and son of a Gering policeman. The young man died at the scene and Gideon Brunner was transported to Regional West Medical Center.
The young man also had relatives or connections to all the departments locally, Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office, Gering Police Department, Scottsbluff Police Department, and the Nebraska State Patrol.
Our prayers and condolences for everyone in each of those agencies who are reeling from yesterday's events.

We put out an Aurora alert on Friday night, and sure enough, the skies did not disappoint.We also had the Percy meteor shower as well as the Aurora Borealis.The pictures were captured by local followers of the scanner news.

Unfortunately, the weather was not so cooperative with the recent balloon fest, with all flightplans giving way to other activities.
And again, we want to remind everybody about the bridge work on Broadway.The city offers two major alternative routes.
One is Avenue I or Highway 71 on the west side of town, and on the east side of town,you can use the Heartland Expressway just on the other side of the Sugar Factory.Again, that bridge work on Broadway will be ongoing, so expect delays and detours.
And speaking of bridges, there was a bad accident on the bridge on 79 Link between Highway26 and 92 near Melbeta Friday morning.
Witnesses reported a pick up with a topper in the ditch and someone in the driver seat,with troopers on scene assisting.

(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.) — Panhandle Scanner was alerted by local citizens that a car had crashed into a house near 10th Avenue on Saturday night.
It turns out it was a drunk driver who was arrested at the scene. Here’s more from the Scottsbluff Police Department.

Scottsbluff, NE-On Saturday May the fourth 2024 @ 9:31 PM Scottsbluff Police Officers, Scottsbluff Fire Fighters, and Regional West emergency medical services were dispatched to the intersection of East 15th Street and 10th Ave to investigate a traffic crash between a vehicle and a house.
Investigation revealed that Braulio Cruz, age 60 of Scottsbluff, was west bound on East 15th Street driving a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe at a high rate of speed when he ran the stop sign at 11th Ave.  After crossing 11th Ave the vehicle ran off the road to the left and drove across an empty lot. The vehicle crossed 10th Ave, drove through a fence, and into the home at 1420 10th Ave.
The home was occupied but no one inside was injured. The home received significant damage and the vehicle was totaled. Cruz and a passenger, Alberto Areas, age 38 of Scottsbluff, received minor injuries. Cruz and Areas were treated at the scene and not transported to the hospital by EMS.
Cruz was arrested and booked in at the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Willful Reckless Driving, a Stop Sign violation, and No Proof of Insurance.
Scottsbluff Police were assisted at the scene by Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Deputies.

(MORRILL COUNTY, Neb.) -- The original scanner call came in after midnight stating that a concerned mother was tracking her son walking on Hwy 385 near mm 100 via gps after the car he and his friend were in became high centered. She lost their signal and called in for assistance.
