Weather Outlook from Brian Hale at Panhandle Scanner
Brought to you by Kendall Henderson Agency, Incorporated and Scott's Bluff, as well asour friends at Nebraska Panhandle Weather, Alerts and Road Conditions and the entireNat Work Group.
Thank you very much for the information along with the National Weather Services out ofNorth Platte and Cheyenne.
Heres a look at what's happening on Friday.
The potential for accumulating snow has increased across the southern Panhandle into portionsof the Sand Hills and southwest Nebraska.
The greatest potential is from Highway 61 westward and there is a tight gradient in accumulations,so any eastward shift will bring higher amounts further into southwest Nebraska.Expect travel impacts from late Saturday morning onward, including along I-80 from Ogallalawestward.
Thankfully, strong winds and very cold temperatures will not be a factor in the system.Your daytime highs include 30s and 40s for most of the forecast region and colder temperaturesin the teens and 20s for mountains on Friday.
Snow showers will expand in coverage along the front range in high plains of Coloradoby Friday afternoon and move north and east into the I-80 corridor of southwest Wyomingby late afternoon and evening hours.
Snow moves up from the southwest Saturday morning.
Most snowfall occurs Saturday afternoon into the evening.
It will be wet Saturday afternoon, then become drier late in the evening.Significant wind and cold temperatures are not expected.
As a reminder, winter storm watches are in effect from the I-80 summit to portions ofthe southern Nebraska Panhandle.
A winter storm watch has been issued for eastern Albany County, Laramie County, andKimball County from 5pm Friday through 11pm Saturday.
Snow accumulations of 5-8 inches are expected, heaviest snowfall is expected to fall duringthe day Saturday.
As we finish off today's forecast, here's a look at the coming week.As always, be sure to visit PanhandleScanner.com and Panhandle Scanner on Facebook for moreinformation. Special thanks to Nebraska Panhandle weather alerts and road conditions and our friendsat Natwarc. This information provided by them as well as the National Weather Service out of Cheyenneand North Platte.
That's going to do it for today's quick weather forecast.
Thanks again for listening and may God bless.

Minatare Disturbance Feb 7 2024
Wednesday Feb 07, 2024
Wednesday Feb 07, 2024
If you're listening to the scanner tonight, you can hear there's a lot of crazy stuff going on.
First of all, we have the assault victim now in Minatare on Avenue B. The NSP responded to the situation. Eye-witnesses are telling us they're hearing lots of sirens there, but they have the situation under control. It started out as a drunk disturbance at a house that they are familiar with.
There was another call at the same time that came in. A female at the steel grill that was feeling very ill that needed to rescue. With the incident at McDonald's yesterday with the gas leak, we always want to be careful when it comes to situations like that. We're hoping and praying that everything is going to turn out okay there. That's just a quick update from the Panhandle Scanner.
Thanks again for listening. I'm Brian Hale.
